This project started at the same time I was looking into the idea of growth in my sculptural work. I was fascinated with the idea of small uninterrupted anomalies clinging to corners, growing like bacteria.

I wanted to create my own 'growths' made of hair. These spheres grew up and around a wall panel, they also clung to the back which made their appearance very parasitic in nature. The use of the hair, and the way you could see the light come through the hollow shells, made these fragile orbs appear like cocoons, suggesting an element of birth.
